NAVAL MECHANICS

BOILERMAKING
  • Hull work involves the restoration of ship hull structures either in dry docks and floating docks, or on afloat ships during stops. This restoration is done by replacing worn or damaged plates and reinforcements with high-quality materials approved by classification societies.
  • Boilermaking and welding work is also carried out for the industry.
  • Cutting work using oxy-fuel cutting (oxy-acetylene), installation of fixed oxygen and acetylene networks, batteries for onboard work.

  • The piping activity involves the construction of ship piping systems using various steels and non-ferrous metals (galvanized steel, stainless steel, special steels, copper, Cunifer, marine steel, etc.), filters, valves, and other equipment. The main operations performed by pipefitters are cutting, bending, welding, testing, and assembly of these systems.
FOUNDRY
  • The main activity of the foundry is the melting and casting of zinc and aluminum electrodes, for the cathodic protection of ships.
CARPENTRY
  • The work of this trade involves the construction of cabins and onboard furniture, respecting the specific characteristics of ships such as:
  • Insulation, formwork, lining.
  • Special coatings.
  • Upholstery.
THICKNESS MEASUREMENT
  • ERENAV performs thickness measurement services on plates and other metal structures. It was certified by Germanischer Lloyd in 2004 for thickness measurements on classified ships, according to the standards of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
MECHANICAL REPAIR
  • Onboard Mechanics: mechanical work carried out on ships, such as disassembly and reassembly of propellers, propeller shafts, rudders, hull valves, inspection and repair of onboard auxiliaries, etc. This is a purely naval specialization.
  • Diesel Mechanics: intervention for disassembly, inspection and expertise followed by repair and testing of all types of diesel engines. Interventions are carried out either onboard for engines that are not movable or due to urgent repair needs, or at the workshop.
  • General overhaul and repair of diesel engines of all makes: MAK, MAN, NIIGATA, PIELSTICK, DEUTZ, CATERPILLAR, MTU, VOLVO, BAEDOIN, SULZER, ROUSKI diesel, and other brands, with supply of spare parts.
  • Laser alignment of machines and onboard aggregates.
  • Mounting of engines and generators on shock-fastened supports.
SURFACE TREATMENT
  • High-pressure washing of ship hulls.
  • Abrasive blasting of hulls and metal structures.
  • Spray painting, in compliance with naval standards.
TURBOCHARGERS
  • This activity concerns the complete repair of all types of turbochargers, according to ABB quality standards. It specifically involves disassembly, high-pressure cleaning and micro-blasting in the cabin, metrological control and defect detection, machining and remetalization, as well as balancing and finally reassembly of turbochargers. This activity is based at the Algiers Unit: URNAL. It involves the complete repair of all types of turbochargers, according to ABB quality standards. This is the positive result of the partnership between ERENAV and ABB.
PIPING
  • The piping activity involves the construction of ship piping systems using various steels and non-ferrous metals (galvanized steel, stainless steel, special steels, copper, Cunifer, marine steel, etc.), filters, valves, and other equipment. The main operations performed by pipefitters are cutting, bending, welding, testing, and assembly of these systems.
ELECTRICITY
  • Electricians’ interventions concern onboard electrical systems, reconditioning and repair of all types of motors (with rewinding), generators and alternators.
  • Electricians also work on automatic systems and signaling equipment onboard.
HYDRAULICS
  • The workshop specializes in the repair of onboard hydraulic systems, hose fabrication, and testing on test benches.
